Waiting on Wednesday: March 23, 2016

A weekly meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine.

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Hey lovelies! It’s WoW again! Look what I have here. Hmm..

Title: It Ends With Us

Author: Colleen Hoover

ISBN: 9781501110368 (Paperback)

Expected Publication: 02 August 2016 by Atria Books

Pages: 320

Lily hasn’t always had it easy but that’s never stopped her from working hard for the life she wants. She’s come a long way from the small town in Maine where she grew up. She graduated from college, moved to Boston and started her own business so when she feels a spark with a gorgeous neurosurgeon name Ryle Kincaid everything in Lily’s life suddenly seems almost too good to be true. Ryle is assertive, stubborn, and maybe even a little arrogant. He’s also sensitive, brilliant and has a total soft spot for Lily and the way he looks in scrubs certainly doesn’t hurt. Lily can’t get him out of her head, but Ryle’s complete aversion to relationships is disturbing even as Lily finds herself becoming the exception to his no dating rule, she can’t help but wonder what made him that way in the first place. As questions about her new relationship overwhelm her so do thoughts of Atlas Corrigan, her first love and a link to the past she left behind. He was her kindred spirit, her protector. When Atlas suddenly reappears everything Lily has built with Ryle is threatened.

Thursday Quotables: Wonder

Thursday Quotables is a weekly meme hosted by Lisa @bookshelffantasies .

This weekly feature is the place to highlight a great quote, line, or passage discovered during your reading each week.  Whether it’s something funny, startling, gut-wrenching, or just really beautifully written, Thursday Quotables is where my favorite lines of the week will be, and you’re invited to join in!

Wonder by RJ Palacio is the 2nd book I read this month. A book that everyone should read. A wonderful and beautiful book. I really enjoyed reading it until the end.

Here are some of the best quotes:

“Kinder than is necessary. Because it’s not enough to be kind. One should be kinder than needed.”

“I think there should be a rule that everyone in the world should get a standing ovation at least once in their lives.”

“Sometimes I think my head is so big because it is so full of dreams”

WWW Wednesday: March 2, 2016

It’s Wednesday again, fellows! Starting this month, I will do Waiting on Wednesday and WWW Wednesday alternately.

Let’s start with WWW Wednesday, a weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Worlds. Everyone can join. Just simply answer the three questions and share the link of your post in the comment section of Sam’s blog.

The Three Ws are:

∴ What are you currently reading?

∴ What did you recently finish reading?

∴ What do you think you’ll read next?

Currently Reading: Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover

CoHo really loves to play my feelings. This is my 3rd Colleen Hoover book and she didn’t disappoint me yet. It’s butterflying incredible.

This is my first book for #2books5days challenge. 2 more chapters left.

Recently Finished: Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour

Rating: 4.5 stars

Favorite Quote: “The best things aren’t perfectly constructed. They aren’t illusions. They aren’t larger than life. They are life.”

Wonder by RJ Palacio

You can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.

My name is August. I won’t describe what I look like. Whatever you’re thinking, it’s probably worse.

August Pullman wants to be an ordinary ten-year-old. He does ordinary things. He eats ice cream. He plays on his Xbox. He feels ordinary – inside.

But Auggie is far from ordinary. Ordinary kids don’t make other ordinary kids run away screaming in playgrounds. Ordinary kids don’t get stared at wherever they go.

Born with a terrible facial abnormality, Auggie has been home-schooled by his parents his whole life, in an attempt to protect him from the cruelty of the outside world. Now, for the first time, he’s being sent to a real school – and he’s dreading it. All he wants is to be accepted – but can he convince his new classmates that he’s just like them, underneath it all?

This will be my 2nd book for #2books5days challenge. I need to finish this until 4th of March.

Black Crow White Lie By Candi Sary

A story of young Carson Calley. He has a rare and magical gift of healing, a gift which both defines him and threatens to betray him. He lives in Hollywood motels with his alcoholic, fortune-telling mother, Juliette. She nurtures his gift, but her ways are deceptive. She feeds the boy fantastical stories to convince him of his greatness. At fourteen, Carson finally wises up to her lies and his identity is completely shattered. Juliette is too deep in her addiction to help him separate the facts from the fictions, so he looks for answers on the streets of Hollywood. There he finds Faris, a tattoo shop owner, and Casper, a cashier at a head shop. These two unlikely mentors help this troubled yet extraordinary boy find his way to the truth.

Until next week! Ciao.

February: Book Haul and Wrap Up

Hello! Month of February is over, bookish people! But, be happy because today is Leap day! Don’t forget to be thankful for the additional 24 hours.

Here’s what I got this February.

I bought that gorgeous Eat.Sleep.Read. bookmark and 4 books from local bookstore. 3 of those are in bargain section. Who will say NO to bargain books? 😀

  2. The Valley of Amazement by Amy Tan
  3. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald
  4. Hire of Fire by Sarah J Maas

That pretty tutu is love! I received a lovely little pinky ballerina canvas art as my prize in QatArt giveaway. Not a bookish related but I’m so happy and thankful. It’s my first time to won in a giveaway.

And… another giveaway prize! I’m 1 of the 3 winners who were chosen randomly hosted by Ate Kath. I got a signed Black Crow White Lie by Ms Candi Sary. I will definitely add this to my March tbr.

I ordered also a paperback edition of A Darker Shade of Magic by VE Schwab in The Book Depository. Still waiting in vain.

Next, is my February wrap up. I managed to read 3 books.

WWW Wednesday: February 24, 2016

It’s Wednesday again, fellows!

A weekly meme hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Worlds. Everyone can join. Just simply answer the three questions and share the link of your post in the comment section of Sam’s blog.

The Three Ws are:

∴ What are you currently reading?

∴ What did you recently finish reading?

∴ What do you think you’ll read next?

Current read: Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour

This is a cover-buy book. Isn’t it so beautiful and lovely and pretty??! After reading few pages, I learned that this is a LGBT book. What?? Darn! Hmp! Nothing personal but this kind of books aren’t my top priority reads for now. tsk! Please don’t hate me for my reaction. I’m just being honest. Haha! The cover is so sexy and I love it that’s why I decided to read it. I’m halfway through right now and Nina LaCour put some love potion in the middle of this book because I’m falling in love with the story..! Yes! I love it. We’ll see if I will love it ’till the end.

Recently finish: Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma

OK. I gave 4 stars. The story is well-written. I didn’t give perfect 5 because I’m not comfortable with the relationship of Lochan and Maya. I don’t love it but I don’t hate it as well.

Next reads: Winter by Marissa Meyer, Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas, A Storm of Swords by George RR Martin

It’s time to dive into fantasy world again.

Happy reading!

Everything leads to You.

Since you’ve been gone –

All the bright places,

Shatter me.

P.S. I still love you.

The one and only –

A thousand pieces of You.
